Abstract

The flow of foreign tourist arrivals at the beginning of the second semester of 2023 recorded a positive trend. Several events in July 2023 such as the “We the Fest 2023” International Music Event, the arrival of the French Air Force to strengthen Indonesian and French military cooperation, and the ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting have contributed to an increase in foreign tourist visits to Jakarta.

The number of foreign tourist arrivals to Jakarta throughout July 2023 reached 204,718 visits, an increase of 27,00 percent compared to June 2023 (m-to-m). When compared to July 2022 (y-on-y), foreign tourist visits to Jakarta surged by 71.75percent.

In July 2023, based on nationality, Netherlands have the highest increase compared to June 2023 with an increase amount of 7,819 visits or 207.95 percent. Meanwhile, China remains the country with the highest visits with contributions of 15.00 percent to the total arrivals of foreign tourists to Jakarta.
