Abstract

In the second month of 2023, foreign tourist visits to Jakarta rose by 10.11 percent compared to January 2023. It was in line with the drastic rise in tourist arrivals from China following the lifting of the ban on traveling abroad by the Chinese government in January 2023.

Cumulatively, the number of foreign tourist arrivals in Jakarta in the first two months of 2023 was 243,033. The arrivals increased significantly by 723.98 percent compared to January-February 2022.

In February 2023, the domination of foreign tourists from ASEAN was displaced by foreign tourists from other ASIA countries. The number of visits by foreign tourists from non-ASEAN countries, reached 45,778 visits. Based on nationality, the highest share of foreign tourist was China with 16.99 percent.
