Abstract

Jakarta Foreign Tourists Rise Slightly in August 2022The arrival of foreign tourists to Jakarta in August 2022 rose slightly by 1.88 percent compared to July 2022. However, foreign tourist arrivals in August continued the positive trend since the beginning of 2022. The number of foreign tourists increased throughout the year showed the tourism sector is growing.

On an annual basis, foreign tourist visits rose drastically compared to August 2021, 11,238.7 percent. There were 121.4 thousand foreign tourists arrived in Jakarta in August 2022. While in August 2021, the number of foreign tourists visiting was only 1,071.

The highest international tourist arrivals came from countries from ASEAN and Europe in August 2022. Meanwhile, based on nationality, tourists from Malaysia had the highest number of arrivals as in the previous month.
