Perkembangan Ekspor DKI Jakarta, Mei 2022

Jakarta’s cumulative exports from January to May 2022 still showed a positive performance amidst global economic uncertainty. Jakarta’s cumulative exports in May 2022 were recorded at US$ 4.6 billion, increased by 3.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. 

However, this condition had a direct impact on exports in May 2022. Exports in May 2022 contracted by minus 25.3 percent compared to the previous month (m-to-m). This was triggered by declining of exports of the main commodities. In the midst of declining exports, copper and articles thereof commodities still showed a positive performance. 

In line with month-to-month export growth, exports in May compared to the same month in the previous year, slightly decreased by 0.7 percent. The decline in exports was triggered by decreasing of exports of electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof, articles of apparel and clothing accessories (knitted), soap and washing preparations, machinery and mechanical appliances and part thereof, as well as precious metals and jewellery/precious stones. The decline was slightly subdued by the increase in five other main commodities.
