Abstract

The increase in community mobility after the Eid holiday positively impacted the Jakarta hotel industry. Because in general, the rise in tourist visits will be followed by an increase in the demand for hospitality services. In addition, the government and companies have started holding Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition (MICE) activities which allegedly contributed to the rise in the occupancy rate (TPK) of Jakarta star hotels in May 2022.

Jakarta’s star hotel occupancy rate in May 2022 rose by 6.0 percentage points to 51.8 percent compared to the previous month. In detail, the composition of guests staying at Jakarta star hotels consists of 93.3 percent of Indonesian guests and 6.7 percent of foreign guests.

On the other hand, the average length of stay for star hotel guests fell from 1.99 days to 1.90 days compared to the previous month. This was triggered by a decline in the average length of stay of Indonesian and foreign guests compared to the previous month.
