Abstract

The government has loosened the regulations for domestic and international travelers after the COVID-19 case was brought under control. This condition will undoubtedly bring a better situation for the hotel industry. Jakarta star hotel’s occupancy rate in March 2022 was recorded at 52.7 percent, an increase of 6.6 percentage points compared to February 2022.

In detail, guests staying at Jakarta star hotels consist of 93.0 percent of Indonesian guests and 7.0 percent of foreign guests. Although it has not returned to its normal condition, the proportion of foreign guests this month increased significantly compared to the previous month.

In contrast to the occupancy rate, the average length of stay of Jakarta star hotel guests in March 2022 decreased by 0.15 days to 1.94 days compared to the month before. This situation related to the decline in Indonesian guests’ average length of stay, which dropped significantly by 0.21 days compared to the previous month.
