Abstract

Amid the resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2022, the government still opened for international arrivals with strict regulations. The restriction for foreign tourists to enter Indonesia became 14 countries. Surveillance and quarantine for foreign tourists tightened. The government took this step impacts increasing the number of foreign tourist arrivals.

Jakarta foreign tourists experienced a boom in the number of foreign tourists in January 2022, with 14,089 arrivals. This figure is 1,028.9 percent higher than the same month in 2021, which only reached 1,248 arrivals. However, compared to the pre-pandemic levels, the number of arrivals remains low by 92 percent accounting for 175,159 arrivals in January 2019.
