Abstract

At the end of the first semester of 2023, year-on-year (yoy) inflation in DKI Jakarta was observed to have cooled down again. This was the fourth decline that has occurred in the first half of 2023. Since March 2023, annual inflation has continued to show a weakening trend. This has certainly eased the grip on economy in the capital city.

Continuing the decline in the previous months, throughout June 2023, year-onyear (yoy) inflation was recorded at 3.20 percent, down 0.32 percentage points compared to the previous month. Almost all expenditure category experienced a decline in inflation, except for personal care and other services category. Meanwhile, the main triggers for inflation this time include gasoline (0.706 percent), house contracts (0.309 percent), and rice (0.216 percent). .

Viewed on a month-to-month (mtm) basis, Jakarta experienced mild inflation of 0.01 percent. Increases in the price of purebred chicken (0.076 percent), air fares (0.023 percent), and chicken eggs (0.013 percent) were the main drivers of inflation in June 2023.
