Abstract

Jakarta’s economic recovery continues amid a surge in the Omicron cases and rising prices in several strategic commodities. Despite the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM), population mobility and economic activities continue to run normally. The coverage of the vaccination program that has reached children and the provision of booster vaccines have further increased the public’s confidence to carry out social and economic activities outside.

On y-on-y basis, Jakarta’s economy grew by 4.63 percent. From the demand side, it was driven by an increase in Non-Profit Institutions Serving Households/NPISH Final Consumption Expenditure (NFCE), Household Final Consumption Expenditures (HFCE), and Gross Fixed Capital Formation (GFCF). Meanwhile, on the production side, growth occurred in Health Services, Other Services, and Processing Industries.

On q-to-q basis, Jakarta’s economy grew by 0.64 percent. On the expenditure side, this growth was endorsed by an increase in Household Final Consumption Expenditure (HFCE). Meanwhile, on the production side, it was supported by the development of Electricity and Gas, Financial and Insurance Activities, and Other Services on the production side.
